I am 48, have a degree plus many more qualifications, 30 years work experience in two seperate fields. I have been out of work since May 2011. Everyday I apply for jobs on the internet, phoning and door knocking. Mosts jobs advertised are not real jobs, just recruitment agencies who just want another resume on their data base that they never read and certainly don't reply too.
Anna's 100,000 jobs campaign is a blantant marketing campaign to make the government look good. The only problem is there are no jobs, the problem is bigger than the government wants to tell you.
PS. Jobs in the mining sector are very difficult to get. They expect you to pay thousands of dollars to do induction courses with no guarantee of work. I have met a number of people who are more than qualified to work in the mines, done their inductions and have sound work records. They are looked over for someone with less qualifications who knows someone in the mines.

My Job is secure at the moment. I think the public should stop putting so much pressure on the government to fix the current economic climate. Im no expert, but think I if I was the CEO of a company, I would not be risking the companies future by not altering the companies output to meet demand. How can the Panda survive when there is no Bamboo? Maybe Anna should build a zoo? It seems the typical predator-prey cycle is in action here.
After one year of working in the mines, I made the decision to fulfill my career elsewhere in a more sustainable industry. My reasons for making that decision is for the mere fact that the mining industry is market driven and given the industry is not sutainable one must expect to lose their job eventually??
No surprises here at all, however I do feel for all of those who have lost their current jobs.

What is this about Kessels Rd and 89 businesses having to close, creating up to 1800 more unemployed, just to put in a 10 lane super rd. You are kidding Anna right! You're not doing this just to allow MORE trucks on the suburban streets, when they shouldn't be there anyway! What's wrong with Logan motorway? Whats wrong with diverting trucks away from the suburban streets? Less noise, less traffic congestion, less accidents....oh and 1800 people will retain their jobs and "working families" won't be feeling the pinch!
