I think the job creation scoreboard is a great iniative. In these
more difficult times I would like to think we could try to share the wealth
more fairly: instead of laying off 20% of their workforces, corporations
could look at cutting employees back to 4 days a week and keeping everyone
employed. This way we are all pitching in to keeping the jobs and the
community alive. |

Now we have had the ' non-dam' election, Anna' s Traveston Dam is
front and centre. A priority lest we run out of water in Brisbane. No doubt
she has a mandate â for the dam that was never mentioned during the
election campaign.
I am guessing that she will claim, if the worst happens and the dam goes
ahead, that she created hundreds of jobs building it. Of course these are
short term jobs. Will she subtract the permanent jobs she erased in the
farms and communities she drowned ? Guess we'll find out soon.
And watch the deficit grow while the real jobs evaporate.

| Sorry, no story about jobs however Fiona, my advice to you is to
expand the number of Bligh's promises that you should be monitoring. A
single issue campaign may not be successful. Good Luck and well done!
